We’re recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead safety performance across multiple sites throughout Cumbria for a long standing client. This is a hands-on, operational role in a high-risk, regulated environment, working closely with site leadership to drive compliance, reduce risk and embed a strong safety culture.
The Role
- Provide visible H&S leadership across all operations.
- Act as the primary health & safety advisor to senior leaders and site managers.
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and sector-specific regulations.
- Lead risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring robust corrective actions.
- Deliver site inspections, audits and performance reporting.
- Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate health & safety training across sites.
- Support site teams with toolbox talks, safety briefings and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Coach and mentor managers and supervisors to strengthen safety leadership capability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents, improve compliance and raise safety standards.
- Share best practice across sites and promote consistent standards throughout the region.
About You
Proven H&S management experience in utilities, construction, manufacturing or heavy industry.
