We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead a complex limestone operation in the North West. This is a senior operational leadership role with full responsibility for production, safety, compliance, cost control and long-term site performance.
The site is technically demanding, with significant output requirements, multiple fixed and mobile plant assets, extraction operations, and a strong focus on environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
- Lead all site activities including drilling, blasting, crushing, screening and distribution.
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Optimise plant performance and minimise downtime across fixed and mobile assets.
- Act as the statutory responsible person for the quarry.
- Ensure full compliance with UK quarrying regulations and health & safety legislation.
- Maintain and continuously improve site safety culture and performance.
- Manage operational budgets and cost performance.
- Oversee contractor management and procurement activity.
- Contribute to long-term site development and investment planning.
- Lead maintenance strategy and asset lifecycle planning.
- Oversee capital projects and plant upgrades.
- Ensure effective workforce planning and capability development.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and planning conditions.
- Manage restoration and long-term land use planning.
- Maintain strong local stakeholder relationships.
Proven experience as a Quarry Manager or Senior Production Manager within limestone or hard rock operations is required, along with strong financial and commercial acumen, excellent leadership and people management skills, MPQC Level 4 Diploma in Quarry Management (or equivalent), and a full UK Driving Licence. SHE NVQ Level 4 / NEBOSH is desirable but advantageous.
Consistent delivery of production and quality targets, improved plant efficiency and cost performance, and full regulatory compliance with positive inspection outcomes are essential.
