Are you an experienced employee relations professional who can confidently manage workplace cases from initial referral through to conclusion?

Six Company is looking for an Employee Relations Case Worker to join our HRTeam on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

You will manage a varied caseload across our growing Hospitality business, providing clear advice to managers and ensuring each case is handled fairly, consistently and efficiently.

This is a dedicated employee relations role. Your focus will be managing investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances and other formal workplace processes from start to finish.

The Role

Working closely with the HR Business Partner, you will take ownership of employee relations cases and guide managers through the appropriate process.

You will establish the facts, assess potential risk, conduct thorough investigations and produce clear, evidence-based recommendations.

You will ensure cases progress within reasonable timescales and that all decisions are fair, consistent and appropriately documented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases from initial referral through to final outcome.
  • Provide clear, practical and commercially balanced advice to managers.
  • Review new cases, establish the relevant facts and assess employment-related risk.
  • Conduct fair, thorough and impartial workplace investigations.
  • Lead investigation meetings and interview employees and witnesses.
  • Review written statements, records and other relevant evidence.
  • Produce clear and evidence-based investigation reports.
  • Support or conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • Prepare meeting invitations, hearing packs, outcome letters and other formal correspondence.
  • Advise managers on Company policies, procedures and employment law requirements.
  • Support managers in reaching fair, reasonable and evidence-based decisions.
  • Identify complex, sensitive or high-risk cases and elevate these to the HR Business Partner.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and well-organised case records.
  • Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and agreed actions are completed.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner to review case strategy, risk and recommended outcomes.

About You

You will have

  • Strong experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and the ACAS Code of Practice.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • The ability to review evidence, assess risk and provide clear recommendations.
  • Confidence advising and appropriately challenging managers.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing investigation reports and formal correspondence.
  • Strong organisation and case management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.
  • A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professional judgement.
  • The ability to remain impartial when handling complex or sensitive matters.

A CIPD qualification is preferred, although it is not essential where a candidate can demonstrate strong and relevant employee relations experience.
