We are looking for highly experienced Solution Architects with strong on‑premises infrastructure and enterprise solution design capability. We require strong experience designing and delivering on‑premises solutions.
We require deep knowledge of data centre architecture, including compute, storage, and networking. We require hands‑on experience with VMware environments; VMware Cloud Foundation experience is desirable. We require experience with Microsoft enterprise collaboration tools in on‑premises environments. We require experience delivering virtual desktop infrastructure, ideally supporting engineering workloads such as CAD and PLM.
We require a strong understanding of secure‑by‑design principles and defence‑grade security requirements. We require experience working in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. We require strong analytical and problem‑solving capability. We require excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. We require the ability to operate within distributed, cross‑functional teams. We require experience producing high‑quality technical documentation. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and architecting on‑premises VMware‑based infrastructure solutions.
- Contributing to the definition and delivery of virtual desktop environments, including support for engineering tools such as CAD and PLM.
- Supporting implementation and migration activities within secure data centre environments.
- Providing consultancy and technical leadership within a team of architects.
- Ensuring solutions adhere to secure‑by‑design principles and defence security standards.
- Troubleshooting and optimising platform performance and resilience.
- Working closely with stakeholders including contractors, government stakeholders, and internal IT teams.
- Operating as part of a wider architecture team to support the design and delivery of a complex on‑premises technical solution.
