Requirements:

  • Champion a user-centred approach and help colleagues understand the value of user research.
  • Experience planning and conducting user research using a range of methods, including contextual research, ad-hoc and lab usability testing, and in-depth interviewing.
  • Carry out inclusive, legally and ethically compliant research and advocate for accessible services that work for all users.
  • Strong communication skills to engage, influence, and build productive relationships with stakeholders, including less knowledgeable or sceptical colleagues.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business problems and user needs into actionable research plans and objectives.
  • Must be able to pass security clearance and have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to generate evidence-led insights that inform the design and delivery of digital products and services.
  • Bridge the gap between research findings and product strategy by translating technical data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Support teams in using research findings to improve products and services and keep outcomes focused on users.
  • Plan and conduct user research across a variety of methods.
  • Promote inclusive research practices and help teams deliver accessible experiences.
  • Advocate for user research as a discipline and help build understanding of its value across the organisation.
  • Navigate complex environments and help both technical and non-technical colleagues understand user-centred design.

We are at the start of a major technology-led transformation to help more people engage with UK Parliament and support a modern Parliament. You will join our new Digital Delivery team, part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment working in agile value streams to deliver high-quality outcomes at pace.
