Requirements:

  • Professional experience with TypeScript, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Experience developing and maintaining React-based JavaScript SPAs
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing tools and practices
  • Experience onboarding, integrating, and managing third-party platforms
  • Understanding of microservices architectures and RESTful API development, including structuring, documenting, versioning, testing, and stubbing/mocking
  • Experience operating within Agile development teams
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Excellent working knowledge of modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks, including React and Hono or equivalent
  • Understanding of the OAuth 2.0 framework and OpenID Connect flows (OIDC)
  • Use of JSON Web Tokens and concepts related to asymmetric cryptography
  • Fluent use of Git (GitLab/GitHub) and understanding of CI/CD and trunk-based development
  • Awareness of website performance and accessibility best practices
  • Advocate of excellent development practices including test-driven development, pairing, and mobbing
  • Ability to write, assist in writing, or review technical documentation
  • Hands-on experience with PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud, formerly ForgeRock, is desirable
  • Experience with GraphQL and related technologies is desirable
  • Ability to understand Java and/or PHP code is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Build and run cloud-native applications with TypeScript and React
  • Develop internal services deployed to AWS using serverless and container-based infrastructure
  • Establish and maintain high automated test coverage for our services
  • Write high-quality, secure, and performant code
  • Advocate for continuous improvement across quality, security, performance, and CI/CD processes
  • Document solutions and drive architectural decisions within the team
  • Learn and apply new technologies and techniques embraced by our development team
  • Build strong working relationships within our team and across Hargreaves Lansdown
  • Participate in working groups and communities of practice that support the development team
  • Provide engineering support for existing applications when necessary
  • Coach and mentor peers
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as security, enterprise architecture, and downstream consumers of our services
  • Evangelise best practices and help the team avoid anti-patterns
