Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience working as an M&E AV systems designer
  • Proven track record of delivering complex AV system designs in AutoCAD or similar
  • Knowledge of current AV technology and system integration
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, can-do approach
  • Strong soft skills and the ability to work well with people
  • Ability to work independently to deadlines and manage workload
  • Ability to perform well in a sometimes pressurised environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and own complex AV systems using AutoCAD
  • Ensure system designs are technically accurate, specification compliant, and fit for purpose
  • Scrutinise specification documentation, BOMs, and scoping documents
  • Design custom metalwork and bespoke engineering solutions
  • Attend and initiate meetings with senior technical, engineering, and project delivery teams
  • Contribute to and maintain design team processes and standards
  • Use an agile approach to prioritise and deliver tasks within agreed timeframes
  • Communicate technical challenges to key stakeholders and help resolve them
  • Apply high-level engineering design practices, including proof of concept work where needed during design
  • Allocate an M&E designer to projects based on availability and hand over information from kick-off meetings
  • Update project information based on kick-off meeting outcomes
  • Act as the go-to person for M&E queries within the team channel
  • Assist with mentoring M&E trainees
