Requirements

  • Previously worked in a similar senior data science role.
  • Ability to balance technical delivery with leadership responsibilities while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Experience writing scripts to provide insights into complex system performance within high-volume synthetic environments, using Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience with data transformation and visualisation frameworks.
  • Experience generating GUIs to display key data insights.
  • Experience developing product-quality software applications.
  • BSc or Masters degree in a data-related subject.
  • Strong background in statistics and data assimilation techniques is desirable.
  • Experience prototyping AI/ML techniques, such as LLMs and neuromorphic systems, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Spectrum systems such as Radar, Electronic Warfare or Jamming technologies is desirable.
  • Interest in GPU-accelerated architectures and high-performance computing is desirable.
  • Experience using DevOps and software development tools such as Jira and BitBucket is desirable.
  • Must be a UK national and eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Government SC level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of data science activities in support of a dedicated Test & Evaluation programme.
  • Define, scope and review tasking for Data Science team members.
  • Develop analytical, predictive and visualisation solutions using modern data science techniques.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging AI and machine learning technologies.
  • Develop robust, high-quality software applications and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
  • Report progress and technical outputs to project stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities and technical bid responses.
  • Ensure data science processes and best practices are followed.
  • Work closely with project leads and customers to understand complex challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Help shape the future direction of our Data Science capability.
  • Identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies.
  • Support business growth through technical input into bids and proposals.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at our head office in Little Paxton, St Neots, working alongside a highly skilled team of Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Technical Specialists on innovative solutions for highly secure customers.
