Requirements

  • Strong experience working with ISP networking technologies, including BGP, MPLS, LDP, VRFs, L2VPNs, L3VPNs, PPPoE, OSPF, and IPv6
  • Extensive hands‑on experience configuring and supporting Juniper MX and QFX platforms in a live production environment
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across a core network with a structured and methodical approach to fault‑finding
  • Experience delivering network change, upgrades, and project work safely within a controlled production environment
  • Good understanding of network performance, resilience, and operational best practice within an ISP or service provider setting
  • Experience supporting core network services and related virtualised or Linux‑based infrastructure would be beneficial
  • Comfortable producing clear technical documentation and detailed change requests
  • Able to work independently, take ownership of technical problems, and contribute to wider engineering improvements
  • Experience with RADIUS and TACACS would be beneficial
  • Able to support junior engineers and explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Exposure to automation and open‑source tooling would be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the stability, performance, and ongoing improvement of our ISP core network and supporting platforms
  • Provide hands‑on operational support across the core network and associated infrastructure
  • Deliver technical projects and network changes safely in a live production environment
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues as they arise
  • Contribute to service improvements, automation, and wider engineering enhancements
  • Work within the technical direction set by our Head of Technology & Engineering
  • Produce clear technical documentation and detailed change requests
  • Support and develop junior engineers
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
