Requirements
- Active UK Government Security Clearance (SC) is required
- Minimum of 5 years UK address history at the point of application
- Prior experience in a SOC Analyst or similar security role, with 1-2 years desirable
- Strong understanding of computer networks
- Strong understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux
- Strong understanding of software, hardware, and general IT infrastructure
- Awareness of cybersecurity risks across technologies and how to mitigate them
- Working knowledge of security technologies, including network and application firewalls
- Working knowledge of Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS)
- Working knowledge of antivirus and endpoint protection tools
- Relevant academic qualifications or industry training in Cyber Security or IT Security
Responsibilities
- Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts and incidents
- Investigate and analyse potential threats across multiple environments
- Escalate security events in line with defined processes
- Support continuous improvement through alert tuning and optimisation recommendations
- Produce clear and concise incident and performance reports
- Maintain awareness of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
