Requirements

  • Active UK Government Security Clearance (SC) is required
  • Minimum of 5 years UK address history at the point of application
  • Prior experience in a SOC Analyst or similar security role, with 1-2 years desirable
  • Strong understanding of computer networks
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux
  • Strong understanding of software, hardware, and general IT infrastructure
  • Awareness of cybersecurity risks across technologies and how to mitigate them
  • Working knowledge of security technologies, including network and application firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS)
  • Working knowledge of antivirus and endpoint protection tools
  • Relevant academic qualifications or industry training in Cyber Security or IT Security

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts and incidents
  • Investigate and analyse potential threats across multiple environments
  • Escalate security events in line with defined processes
  • Support continuous improvement through alert tuning and optimisation recommendations
  • Produce clear and concise incident and performance reports
  • Maintain awareness of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
  • Collaborate with wider security teams to strengthen detection and response capabilities
