We are looking for an experienced senior IT professional with previous experience within the education sector. We would ideally like experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager, Senior Network Manager, Head of IT, Education IT Consultant, or in a similar senior technical role. We need a strong understanding of school, academy, or Multi‑Academy Trust IT environments.

We are looking for experience designing, managing, or improving IT solutions across education sites. We require strong technical knowledge across networking, infrastructure, cloud, security, and end‑user computing. We need good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Intune, Windows Server, networking, firewalls, wireless, switches, VLANs, and site connectivity. We are looking for an understanding of cyber security requirements within education.

We need the ability to engage confidently with school leaders, business managers, IT teams, and technical stakeholders. We require experience creating technical documentation, scopes, designs, or project recommendations. We need strong written and verbal communication skills. We require a full UK driving licence, access to your own car, and willingness to travel across the UK.

Desirable experience includes working for an education‑focused MSP. Desirable knowledge includes DfE Digital and Technology Standards. Desirable knowledge includes Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus. Desirable experience includes supporting tenders, bids, or technical presentations. Desirable experience includes Microsoft, networking, cyber security, or cloud certifications. Desirable experience includes cloud migrations, wireless refreshes, server upgrades, security improvements, or wider infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing technical solutions for schools, academies, and Multi‑Academy Trusts.
  • Leading technical discovery sessions with customers and stakeholders.
  • Reviewing existing customer environments and providing roadmap recommendations.
  • Producing high‑level solution designs, implementation scopes, and technical recommendations.
  • Aligning solutions with DfE Digital and Technology Standards, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, safeguarding considerations, and security best practice.
  • Providing high‑level oversight during implementation projects.
  • Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers to ensure technical delivery quality.
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex deployments.
  • Performing technical sign‑off on completed solutions.
  • Ensuring solutions can be supported by our Service Desk and Managed Services teams.
  • Producing and maintaining solution designs, network diagrams, migration plans, technical standards, and implementation documentation.
