We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team. I am seeking someone with a full understanding of the principles of systems engineering and prior experience as a Systems Engineer on a major program involving accepting and integrating deliveries from suppliers. Experience with requirements management software (e.g., DOORS) is essential. You should also have a background in software architecture within real-time or safety-related systems and understand the complete system life cycle from problem definition through to deployment. Experience in a software development environment and adherence to processes is a must. Additionally, I prefer candidates who are enthusiastic self-starters with good attention to detail and both verbal and written communication skills. A comprehensive understanding of various software development methodologies and the ability to work under schedule and cost constraints is necessary.
In this role, I want you to work closely with customers and suppliers to execute Systems Engineering activities across the full lifecycle, with a focus on Model Based Systems Engineering. You will be supporting the development of a multiple award-winning ATM system and working as part of an agile team. Your typical duties will include:
- Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product architects, and requirements to define low-level/software requirements through requirements gathering and analysis.
- Conducting functional and technical analysis to shape the system design.
- Producing detailed engineering artifacts, including Engineering Plans, Processes Documents, System Element Descriptions, Interface Design Documents (IDDs), and Safety artifacts related to ED109A.
- Preparing operational instructions/training material for software applications and supporting tools.
- Assisting in the definition of product concepts and software architecture.
- Investigating issues identified during testing and operations, including problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Reviewing test artifacts such as test cases and procedures.
- Assisting with impact assessments for product releases or change requests in the pipeline.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a program with an exciting pipeline of international work, providing Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) with tools to enhance their operations. While familiarity with Air Traffic Management (ATM) is advantageous, on-the-job training will be provided. We offer meaningful and engaging careers, a collaborative culture, and support for career goals while nurturing a healthy work-life balance. Our comprehensive employment package includes a contributory pension scheme, private medical insurance, 33 days of annual leave, and access to flexible benefits like life assurance and health schemes. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture and welcome applications from every part of the community. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application and selection process, just let us know, and we will respond to fit your needs. At Leidos UK & Europe, we strive to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient through technology and engineering. Join us to inspire change and contribute to vital transformations in various sectors, including defense, healthcare, and transportation. If you are someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take on new challenges, we would love for you to apply.
