Requirements:

  • Experience in process mapping, systems analysis, or capability assessment.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in regulated or engineering environments.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in nuclear, decommissioning, or waste management environments.
  • Preferred knowledge of process improvement methods and frameworks.
  • Preferred experience with Visio, Lucidchart, or BPMN.
  • Preferred understanding of ISO standards and compliance environments, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 31000.
  • Preferred engineering or technical background.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Structured and analytical mindset.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and improve business processes across our programme to ensure they are consistent, effective, and compliant.
  • Map current end-to-end processes, including inputs, outputs, roles, interfaces, and dependencies.
  • Review procedures, process documents, and organisational roles.
  • Assess process completeness, clarity, and compliance alignment.
  • Identify capability gaps, bottlenecks, risks, and inconsistencies.
  • Assess the impact, complexity, and regulatory implications of process gaps.
  • Separate quick wins from longer-term improvement needs.
  • Apply relevant standards and frameworks, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 31000.
  • Work with engineers, operations teams, and subject matter experts across SHE, environmental, and decommissioning areas.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs.
  • Act as a coordination point between technical teams and programme leadership.
  • Maintain a gap register with evidence and traceability.
  • Produce reports, summaries, and board-level updates.
  • Provide clear recommendations and improvement options.
  • Support development of process and system improvements.
  • Contribute to prioritisation and sequencing of actions.
  • Align recommendations with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver discovery outputs, analysis deliverables, and future-state recommendations, including process maps, gap registers, improvement roadmaps, and board presentation materials.

More: We are hiring a Digital Systems Engineer (Process) for a 6-month full-time contract, working five days per week with an onsite requirement of two days per week in Culham. Our team works across engineering, operations, and subject matter experts to build a clear picture of process maturity and improvement needs. This role sits at the centre of programme-wide process review and improvement, supporting evidence-based decision making for leadership and helping us deliver practical, compliant, and prioritised improvements.
