Requirements
- We require a Level 3 qualification (A-Levels, BTEC, or equivalent apprenticeship) in IT, business administration, or a data-related field.
- We require advanced IT skills across Microsoft .NET (C#, VB.Net and ASP.Net), Microsoft SQL Server, PowerBI, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, and REST API.
- We require experience implementing and supporting third-party IT packages in a professional database environment.
- We require experience managing user accounts and security groups.
- We require experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and explaining technical solutions in plain English.
- We require excellent planning, organisation, communication, and administrative skills.

Responsibilities
- We manage the full lifecycle of user accounts across our core MIS applications, including creation, amendments, role changes, and deactivation.
- We conduct routine audits of user access levels to ensure compliance with data protection legislation and our security policies.
- We maintain system security groups and permission matrices so staff have access only to the data required for their roles.
- We troubleshoot login issues, password resets, and permission blocks quickly to reduce operational disruption.
- We act as the central point of contact for logging system glitches, software errors, and bugs reported by college users.
- We investigate issues methodically to reproduce errors and determine whether they are caused by user error, data quality issues, or software faults.
- We prepare clear and detailed technical ticket submissions for external software vendors and monitor support portals against service level agreements.
- We support the Team Leader in preparing for scheduled software upgrades, hotfixes, and minor version releases.
- We carry out thorough user acceptance testing in test environments before upgrades go live.
- We monitor automated data transfer logs between systems and flag stuck processes or integration sync failures.
- We create, update, and publish user guides, cheat sheets, and brief video walkthroughs to help staff use systems independently.
- We deliver practical system inductions for new staff and refresher sessions for curriculum teams.
- We provide responsive systems support during peak operational periods such as enrolment, student induction, and curriculum planning weeks.
- We work closely with the wider MIS team, curriculum departments, and external vendors to maintain high system availability and strong customer care.
