Requirements:
- Active MOD SC Clearance.
- Sole UK national status.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with switching, routing, firewall configuration, load balancing, and voice technologies.
- Cisco CCNA certification or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of network security, VPN technologies, converged networks, and broadband technologies.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise LAN, WAN, and voice infrastructure.
- Understanding of racking, cabling, and containment standards.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced project environments.
- Subject matter expert capability in one or more networking disciplines (preferred).
- Experience working within highly secure or defence-related environments (preferred).
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure network equipment for complex or business-critical environments.
- Conduct infrastructure surveys across wired and wireless networks.
- Support office moves, adds, and changes.
- Carry out network hardware and cabling refresh activities.
- Configure switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and voice systems.
- Perform impact assessments across large-scale network environments.
- Test solutions against predefined plans and analyze the results.
- Support LAN, WAN, and voice infrastructure environments.
- Work onsite with project managers, architects, and technical SMEs to support delivery of complex network infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with operational support teams to ensure smooth transition and integration into live services.

We are offering a 6-month contract role for an experienced Network Engineer based full-time onsite in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, working 5 days per week. This is an inside IR35 opportunity at a rate of £525 per day, with expenses payable in line with project policy.
