Requirements
- Deep expertise in ISP network design, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting, ideally supported by professional-level qualifications such as JNCIP or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, JNCIA, or similar.
- Strong understanding of ISP routing and transport technologies, including BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and related control‑plane and data‑plane concepts.
- Hands‑on experience operating and evolving multi‑vendor network environments, ideally including Juniper, Mikrotik, and Cisco platforms.
- Proven experience designing and operating secure network and systems architectures, including AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, and 802.1X.
- Hands‑on experience operating, designing, and supporting PPPoE infrastructure such as BNGs, LNSs, and RADIUS.
- Strong understanding of systems architecture, platform reliability, observability, and service orchestration in an ISP environment.
- Ability to analyse complex technical problems and produce clear, evidence‑based engineering recommendations.
- Ability to research, test, and evaluate emerging technologies, translating findings into practical improvements.
- Experience leading technical proofs of concept and prototyping improvements across reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to design solutions that balance resilience, security, scalability, and operational simplicity.
Responsibilities
- Act as the senior subject‑matter expert for our ISP core network and Operations Support Systems (OSS).
- Ensure our ISP network and platforms are robust, reliable, well‑designed, and continuously improving.
- Provide deep technical ownership, engineering quality, innovation, and mentorship.
- Serve as a high‑level technical escalation point and trusted advisor to our Head of Technology & Engineering.
- Provide authoritative technical input, recommendations, and hands‑on expertise within agreed architectural frameworks.
- Analyse complex technical issues and drive evidence‑based engineering decisions.
- Research, test, and evaluate emerging technologies to identify practical improvements.
