We are looking for an experienced software engineering leader with a strong background in technical leadership and team management. We need someone who has operated in complex enterprise environments and can navigate significant organisational change. We require experience stabilising and leading engineering teams in an interim capacity. We are seeking someone with credibility in providing technical oversight and direction to projects and programmes. We need strong stakeholder engagement, governance, and senior communication skills. Integration experience or awareness is highly desirable. Previous experience in the Higher Education sector is strongly preferred. Experience across software development, integration, BI and analytics, and engineering governance is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an established engineering function of around 20 FTEs across software development, integration, BI and analytics, and engineering governance.
- Provide stability, technical leadership, and engineering oversight during a period of significant change.
- Support the smooth running of our engineering operation and ensure BAU activities continue effectively.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide pragmatic leadership across operational priorities and transformation programmes.
- Contribute technical and engineering input into a broad portfolio of strategic initiatives.
- Support large-scale AI and automation programmes.
- Contribute to multi-cloud transformation across AWS and Azure.
- Support cloud migration activity and central data repository initiatives.
- Provide input into cost optimisation programmes.
- Help introduce new products and systems.
