- Extensive experience in Linux systems administration
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, and systems operations
- Experience with VMware or similar virtualisation platforms
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and networking fundamentals
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms
- Experience with backup, monitoring, and endpoint management solutions
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Experience with scripting or automation such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell is desirable
- Experience with Cyber Essentials or security compliance is desirable
- Familiarity with ITIL principles or ticketing systems is desirable
- Experience with VoIP systems or conferencing technologies is desirable
- Knowledge of GDPR and IT compliance standards is desirable
- Full UK driving licence and own transport are required
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administration, support, maintenance, and ongoing development of our IT infrastructure and systems
- Administer and support Linux server environments
- Manage virtualised and cloud-based infrastructure
- Maintain servers, networking, VPNs, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and related infrastructure
- Manage cloud platforms and SaaS systems including Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and disaster recovery
- Manage patching, endpoint security, antivirus, and access controls
- Provide first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and networking issues
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding processes for staff
- Provision laptops, devices, accounts, and software access
- Support users across multiple sites when required
- Automate systems administration and deployment tasks where possible
- Identify opportunities for process and infrastructure improvements
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and IT improvement projects
