Requirements

  • Previous experience in an IT Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
  • Strong work ethic
  • Use of initiative
  • Azure or AWS cloud experience
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and best practices
  • PowerShell scripting knowledge
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco
  • Experience of Sage 200 would be desirable
  • Experience of working within a factory setting would be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, desktops, and network infrastructure
  • Provide technical support to users across the organisation
  • Monitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V
  • Assist with cybersecurity measures including patching, antivirus, backups, and access controls
  • Maintain IT documentation, asset registers, and support procedures
  • Support cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Work with external suppliers and vendors where required
  • Participate in IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and system deployments
  • Adhere to all relevant ISO processes and policies
  • Carry out other smaller administrative and coordination tasks
