We are a fast-growing security technology company based in Reading, expanding our IT Operations team and seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer. This pivotal role supports critical security systems with exposure to both on-site infrastructure and cloud environments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in infrastructure or systems engineering.
- Strong Linux / Ubuntu server administration skills.
- Solid networking knowledge (VLANs, Cisco, etc.).
- Experience with virtualisation & containerisation (Hyper‑V, Docker).
- Database administration skills (MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL).
- Familiarity with endpoint security/protection tools.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Right to work in the UK and eligibility for security clearance (supported by the company).
Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead on customer‑facing infrastructure projects.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Manage patching, monitoring, and system updates.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Provide high‑quality technical support to both internal users and customers.
- Implement and maintain security best practices.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (network diagrams, configs, guides).
- Collaborate with wider engineering and project teams.
