Stratospherec is working with a Guildford-based Enterprise Management software company that serves thousands of clients across the UK and Europe. This Junior or Mid-Level DevOps Engineer role is a new position in their growing DevOps team of engineers and is integral to the continued success of the TechOps team as a central function that underpins the effective development and running of the 'software as a service' supplied to customers.
Responsibilities
- CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Automation: writing automation scripts
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): provisioning infrastructure using tools like Ansible
- System reliability & monitoring
- Security & compliance: integrating DevSecOps into the DevOps lifecycle
- Deploying and managing applications
- Operations & monitoring: monitor system performance, uptime, and security
Qualifications & Skills
- 1 year or more commercial DevOps Engineering experience ideally in a Linux, MySQL, Java (or GO/Node/Ruby/Python) software application environment
- Python, Java, GO or Bash scripting experience
- Scripting skills – Python, Bash, GO or similar
- Monitoring with tools like Grafana (preferred), DataDog or Prometheus
- Database knowledge – MariaDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Linux knowledge – Ubuntu, Debian or CentOS
- Experience working within an agile environment
- Knowledge of version control tools – GIT ideally
- Provisioning servers and knowledge of containerisation with Kubernetes or similar
- At least 2 years commercial experience in a previous role
