Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network, system, and/or security issues.
  • In-depth network experience, especially in the design and implementation of multi-site LANs and WANs.
  • Comprehensive experience with Cisco switching, including Cisco Nexus 3k and 9k.
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless technologies, including experience with global Aruba deployments.
  • CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent knowledge.
  • In-depth experience with a leading firewall technology such as Palo Alto or Fortinet.
  • Strong understanding of network security and Layer 7 technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Riverbed/Steelhead WAN accelerators.
  • Experience with MPLS and VPN networks.
  • Experience implementing QoS and troubleshooting QoS issues in a Cisco environment.
  • Ability to liaise with third parties for troubleshooting and fault resolution.
  • In-depth knowledge of SolarWinds NPM and NTA, Cisco Prime, F5 LTM, GTM, APM, and BIG‑IP client.
  • Valued experience with cloud solution providers such as Azure, O365, Amazon Web Services, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
  • Valued experience with Azure ExpressRoute and cloud connectivity.
  • Valued experience with VMware NSX, micro-segmentation, and software-defined networking.
  • Valued ITIL certification.
  • Valued knowledge of infrastructure standards such as ISO.
  • Valued experience in a professional services environment.
  • Valued experience with non-standard working patterns.
  • Experience collaborating with teams based in different locations.
  • Good writing skills and experience producing support documentation and technical implementation plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering 3rd line operational support within our IT Platforms Network Team.
  • Ensuring continued availability and reliability of our systems.
  • Overseeing and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Identifying and resolving network issues promptly to minimise disruption.
  • Supporting the implementation of new technologies and systems.
  • Contributing to both BAU activities and project-based initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues raised through our ticket system.
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient running of our global BAU network.
  • Providing top-level support and ownership of WAN and LAN technologies.
  • Collaborating with other teams to support top-level network issues.
  • Helping ensure our network meets required security standards and controls.
  • Working with third-party vendors to identify root cause analysis on support issues.
  • Ensuring all activities comply with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.
