Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in a relevant engineering environment.
- Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system architecture and design, verification and validation, and product development processes.
- A strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Technical expertise in at least one engineering discipline, with a broad appreciation of others.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- Sole British nationality and the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tools is valued.
- Knowledge of systems modelling languages such as UML or SysML is valued.
- Experience with systems engineering techniques including use case analysis and trade studies is valued.
- Experience supporting technical bids, proposals, and project estimation activities is valued.
- Understanding of mechanical integration and environmental qualification processes is valued.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are valued.
- The ability to manage complexity, uncertainty, and competing technical priorities is valued.
- A demonstrable systems-thinking approach and the ability to identify and resolve technical risks is valued.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support systems engineering activities across product development projects.
- Capture, analyse, and manage technical requirements across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Define system architectures and technical solutions that meet customer and programme requirements.
- Work closely with hardware, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure coherent system design.
- Support product development from initial concept through design, integration, verification, and validation.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful delivery against cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Participate in customer discussions to clarify requirements and ensure solutions meet operational needs.
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
