Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in data architecture and/or data platform engineering, with significant ownership of architecture on complex programmes
  • Demonstrable track record of evolving an established architecture through strategic roadmaps, standards, patterns, and governance
  • Proficient knowledge of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid platforms
  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, stewardship, and lifecycle management
  • Experience designing and governing architectures for constrained or mission-critical environments, including edge deployments and contested connectivity patterns
  • Experience leading engineering teams, providing clear technical direction, and mentoring in multidisciplinary environments
  • Ability to explain intricate architectural concepts to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Data Fabric architecture end to end, including integration, processing, storage, metadata and lineage, governance, and consumption patterns
  • Establish and maintain the architecture roadmap, including technology evolution, capability increments, and deployment waves across environments
  • Direct architecture for data integration and interoperability, including connectors, data sharing patterns, and cross-domain data exchange approaches
  • Translate high-level architectural intent into reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails to ensure repeatable delivery by the engineering team
  • Run architecture governance and assurance, and lead comprehensive data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical levels
  • Provide hands‑on leadership to a team of Data Fabric Engineers and Data Analysts
  • Ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, resilient, and operable as it evolves
  • Stay aligned with engineering practices to ensure designs are buildable, testable, and supportable
  • Communicate complex architectural concepts to senior stakeholders
