Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, including mechanical and HVAC systems and controls
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Experience in data center engineering is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a similar technical field is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for AWS data centers
- Ensure facility operations and the implementation of safety procedures
- Maintain customer availability and the upkeep and operation of the data center facility
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and help build a world-class safety culture
- Remediate safety risks and issues in coordination with other teams
- Own safety initiatives and projects that strengthen safety culture
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, including UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers
- Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs
- Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment during routine rounds and log-taking
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
- Perform manual handling and lifting of equipment as required
- Work shifts, including morning, late, and night shifts
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to off-duty emergency calls
