Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including mechanical and HVAC systems and controls
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
  • Experience in data center engineering is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a similar technical field is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for AWS data centers
  • Ensure facility operations and the implementation of safety procedures
  • Maintain customer availability and the upkeep and operation of the data center facility
  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and help build a world-class safety culture
  • Remediate safety risks and issues in coordination with other teams
  • Own safety initiatives and projects that strengthen safety culture
  • Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, including UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers
  • Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs
  • Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment during routine rounds and log-taking
  • Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Perform manual handling and lifting of equipment as required
  • Work shifts, including morning, late, and night shifts
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to off-duty emergency calls
