We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Onsite Desktop Engineer to join a fast-paced IT support environment supporting high-profile end users and business operations onsite in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong desktop support experience who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities- Complete assigned technical tasks within agreed timeframes
- Support project delivery alongside internal and external project teams
- Carry out operational and support activities to SLA targets
- Deliver exceptional customer support and user experience
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operating system issues
- Support desktop deployments, upgrades, and configurations
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments (Windows 10/11 preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Office and end-user support
- SCCM experience including OS deployment, application deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of scripting technologies such as PowerShell, VBScript, or batch scripting
- Knowledge of BitLocker, NTFS permissions, and desktop security practices
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Exchange environments, and collaboration tools
- Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
- Sole UK nationality
- Applicants should have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years
- Successful candidates will undergo standard pre-employment screening including DBS and employment checks
