Requirements

  • Proven experience in a hands‑on IT Manager or senior infrastructure role
  • Strong experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure
  • Broad infrastructure knowledge, including networking, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, servers, and cloud platforms
  • Experience supporting or delivering cyber security best practices such as patching, backups, and resilience
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
  • Experience managing or mentoring technical teams
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience working in a multi‑site or complex environment
  • Able to work 5 days per week on‑site in Cambridge
  • Willing to undergo enhanced background and vetting checks

Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, server, and network issues
  • Lead day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring reliable and high‑quality service delivery across multiple sites
  • Support the delivery of our IT strategy by translating objectives into practical plans and improvements
  • Oversee infrastructure, systems, and cyber security across our organisation
  • Drive service improvement, technical standards, and operational consistency
  • Deliver and support infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and enhancements
