Requirements:

  • We are looking for an experienced 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer with at least 2 years experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in a technical support role.
  • We require proven commercial experience with Microsoft Azure environments.
  • We need strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • We expect solid knowledge of Windows Server 2012 to 2019, RedHat Linux, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, and networking technologies.
  • We require experience working within SLA-driven environments using ticket management systems.
  • We value familiarity with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Desirable: exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Desirable: understanding of CI/CD methodologies and deployment pipelines.
  • Desirable: professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation or Microsoft Azure.
  • Desirable: a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • We will investigate, diagnose, and resolve 2nd Line technical support issues within agreed service levels.
  • We will troubleshoot server, network, and infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
  • We will perform system installations, configurations, maintenance, and upgrades across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
  • We will monitor infrastructure performance, identify opportunities for optimisation, and ensure systems meet agreed service standards.
  • We will support infrastructure automation tools, CI/CD environments, and deployment processes.
  • We will maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • We will communicate effectively with customers, providing timely updates and ensuring a high standard of service throughout.
  • We will collaborate with internal teams to achieve timely resolutions and escalate complex issues where appropriate.
