This role offers a fully competitive salary with details on request. Our client is a Salisbury based organisation who are looking to fill the following positions based at their premises. They are the pioneers in the design and fabrication of their products on site and are the leading producer of a full range of products directly in their chosen industry and have done so for many years relying on repeat business from many satisfied customers as well as referrals and new business.

Your Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director / Works Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of all Design and Development activities from concept through to production.
  • Your duties will include:
  • Jig & Tooling Design and Specification in accordance with customer & company internal needs
  • Gauge and Validation system specification
  • Ensuring all work undertaken is feasible and designed for manufacture using available methods
  • Ensuring all engineering product development tasks comply with customer requirements
  • Ensuring best practice manufacturing methods are used both within company and sub-suppliers
  • Conducting regular customer and company engineering reviews to ensure project milestone adherence
  • Liaising with Suppliers of Parts and Tooling
  • Ensuring that DFM, prototype builds, volume ramp up and plant production processes are fully supported
  • Responsibility for delivering Engineering element of the Business Plan
  • Cost estimating of new enquiries

Your Profile:

  • Educated to HND/degree level, or equivalent, in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Strong motivator, achievement orientated with excellent organisational and people management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing methods including Sheet metal Fabrication, Welding, Metal Pressing, Tube Manipulation, Robotics, Automation, Validation / Vision Systems.
  • Knowledge of Exhaust Systems and Automotive Standards, Lean Manufacturing and mistake proofing methods
  • Have a sound understanding of Jig & Fixture Strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Skills in CATIA V5, MS Project, MS Excel
  • Prepared to travel on occasion
