We are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a growing organisation that is looking to attract a talented finance professional to undertake a key role within the business. Based on the M4 corridor between Cardiff and Newport, this fast growth and ambitious business recently moved into modern premises and forms part of a wider group of successful organisations. As the business expands, they are seeking to appoint a proactive and career-driven finance professional to support their next phase of growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly or part-qualified accountant who is keen to join a commercial environment where they can contribute to the business’s success. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will play an important role in supporting strategic decision-making while also taking ownership of key financial processes within the business. You will be a hands-on accountant who enjoys operating within a growing SME environment. This role offers the opportunity to influence decision-making, improve financial processes and support the business as it continues to develop.

The job

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and reports including: Profit and loss statements, Balance sheets, Cash flow reporting including working capital management
  • Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors in preparing financial statements
  • Maintain and improve financial processes across the business
  • Support budgeting and forecasting including annual budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Revenue and expense forecasting
  • Stock take and inventory reporting
  • Maintain and manage financial systems (Sage or similar)
  • Monitor budgets and spend, working with department heads and senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities for cost control and financial efficiency
  • Provide financial analysis and commentary to support business decision-making
  • Work closely with senior leaders to report on financial performance and position
  • Support the management and development of the Finance Support
  • Assist with payroll processes and reporting

The person specification

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA finalist or newly qualified accountant (Part Qualified candidates will also be considered with demonstrable experience)
  • Experienced in preparing management accounts within a commercial business environment
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
  • Possess strong analytical and financial reporting skills
  • Highly organised with a methodical approach to work
  • Confident in communicating financial information clearly and influence decision-making
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Enjoy working in a hands-on role within a growing SME

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is c£45,000 depending on experience + bonus (subject to agreed objectives and company performance) - OTE £50k+
