We are seeking an experienced
Commissioning Engineer to join our Project Engineering team. The successful candidate will provide
3rd Line Technical Support and play a key role in the design, build, integration, commissioning, and deployment of enterprise network solutions.
This position requires a technically skilled professional with strong Cisco networking expertise, experience in LAN/WAN environments, and the ability to work with complex customer network designs.
You will collaborate with Project Engineers, technical teams, and customers to deliver high-quality network implementations while ensuring minimal service disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd Line technical support for enterprise network projects.
- Support project delivery, integration, commissioning, and deployment activities.
- Review implementation plans received from Project Engineers and perform technical peer reviews.
- Assess network topology and circuit design for project planning and implementation.
- Develop and validate configuration scripts for Cisco and multi-vendor network devices.
- Support Project Engineers with technical configuration and implementation activities.
- Monitor customer networks during planned changes and perform pre- and post-implementation risk assessments.
- Update and maintain network circuitry and asset information within internal databases.
- Work with technologies including
Xtran, SDH, PDH, fibre, copper, leased lines, radio, and 4G connectivity .
- Produce accurate technical documentation and commissioning records.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network services and customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing and supporting
LAN & WAN solutions within enterprise or ISP environments.
- Strong knowledge of
Cisco IOS .
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers including
2800, 2900, 3800, 3900, and ASR900 Series .
- Experience working with Cisco switching platforms including
- Strong routing and switching expertise.
- Experience in network commissioning, implementation, and technical support.
- Knowledge of
SDH and PDH networking concepts.
- Experience working with fibre, copper, leased line, radio, and 4G technologies.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Qualifications
- Mandatory
- Relevant industry experience in networking or telecommunications.
CCNA or CCDA certification.
Preferred
CCNP or CCDP certification.
- Experience working within large enterprise or telecommunications environments.
