Companies House is seeking an experienced Director of Portfolio, Change and Implementation to drive their most ambitious reform programme since 1844. The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 has empowered Companies House to play a significant role in the fight against economic crime. This landmark legislation is already reshaping the organisation, but the journey has only begun. Job Role: You will oversee portfolio delivery and our change and implementation teams. You will deliver transformation whilst ensuring the portfolio is managed effectively and professionally, to an agreed plan and in line with the Teal book project delivery. You will ensure transparency, accountability and consistency in reporting – setting and adhering to best practice in project delivery and portfolio management.
You will be responsible for enabling change within the organisation, ensuring the professional application of the change management framework and embedding change management principles and practices across the portfolio to ensure the successful operationalisation of change and management of impacts, increasing our change capability and responsiveness.
Internal and external stakeholder engagement and relationship building is crucial in this role, including working across government and with Ministers to ensure delivery of the portfolio achieves strategic and policy intent. You will be accountable for the timely development and submission of quality business cases, in line with government processes, the functional standards for Project Delivery Profession and Treasury Green Book best practice.
Working with Finance colleagues, you will develop budget proposals for consideration and agreement by relevant Boards, ensuring efficiency targets and effective financial management and reporting.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Substantial experience of leading a transformation portfolio in a complex environment.
- Senior level experience of delivering a programme of projects to time, cost and quality – spanning digital, tech, data, legislative change, policy, service delivery.
- Experience in implementing change into an organisation by overseeing effective transition planning and management.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of establishing high performing technical and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adeptness at building capability whilst creating an inclusive and collaborative culture, which values diversity and encourages openness and approachability.
