As a Groundsman you will be an enthusiastic and energetic individual and part of the wider Maintenance Grounds and Garden team. The postholder will be required to support the Group in creating a five star, well maintained and safe environment for our customers, by ensuring the Resort and Hotel grounds are well maintained on a day-to-day basis in accordance with our procedures. The job is based outdoors in all weathers and includes tasks such as weeding, hedge cutting, grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, groundwork, painting, emptying bins and general maintenance. The key focus is delivering and maintaining excellent customer service whilst managing health and safety within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the grounds areas to a five-star standard of cleanliness, tidiness, presentation, and safety, including daily litter picking, the emptying of bins, and visual checks on fire extinguishers, across the resort.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
  • Ensure safe operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Carry out essential maintenance work, equipment checks, including daily and routine maintenance and duties as trained to do so.
  • Work with the Company’s Health and Safety guidelines to maintain and monitor a safe and secure environment for the welfare of our guests and staff.
  • Be aware of the effects of your work on the customers around you (e.g., disruption, noise, inconvenience).
  • Maintain, develop, and landscape all grounds, including grass, hedges, recreational areas, woodland and caravan/lodge pitches.
  • Develop, prepare, repair and landscape Caravan/Lodge pitches. This includes car parks, patios and paths, concrete bases and associated groundworks.
  • Assist the Grounds Supervisor with siting, connecting and disconnect units to and from services, as trained to do so.
  • Respond promptly to customer problems and jobs, in liaison with the Grounds Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, company Health and Safety guidelines, and adhere to company and department policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards around the sites.
  • Complete any training courses and in-house training as required and participate in team meetings.
  • Liaise and cooperate with your colleagues in all departments, maintain effective and friendly working relationships.
  • Comply to all regulations and policies such as Data Protection Act, Health.
