Job Description

SOS Group are looking for an experienced and highly organised Construction Manager who has previous experience to oversee multi trades and rail projects from Wigan, Stoke, Lancaster from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise—including electrical experience—and a keen eye for detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead diverse projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in managing teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.\\n\\nResponsibilities\\n\\nLead and manage all phases of construction projects, from planning through to execution and handover.\\n\\t\\nDevelop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.\\n\\t\\nCoordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.\\n\\t\\nOversee site operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.\\n\\t\\nMonitor progress against project timelines, addressing any delays or issues proactively.\\n\\t\\nConduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the construction process.\\n\\t\\nManage procurement processes for materials and equipment required for each project.\\n\\t\\nReview technical drawings and specifications, providing input where necessary—particularly regarding electrical systems.\\n\\t\\nMaintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, changes, and compliance records.\\n\\t\\nFoster a positive team environment by providing guidance, training, and support to staff members.\\n\\t\\n6-12 months work\\n\\t\\nProven rail and multi trades experience is required\\n\\nQualifications\\n\\nProven experience in construction management with a strong track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.\\n\\t\\nDemonstrable electrical experience is highly desirable to effectively oversee electrical installations and troubleshoot issues on-site.\\n\\t\\nRelevant qualifications in construction management or civil engineering are preferred.\\n\\t\\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.\\n\\t\\nExcellent organisational skills with attention to detail in planning and execution phases.\\n\\t\\nSound knowledge of health & safety regulations applicable to construction sites.\\n\\t\\nEffective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members at all levels.\\n\\t\\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
