A highly regarded Edinburgh-based developer and property business is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Manager / Supervisor on a contract basis to support the final delivery stages of two prestigious city centre developments. Known for delivering some of Edinburgh's most distinctive high-end residential and hospitality projects, this privately-owned business has built a strong reputation for quality, craftsmanship and the sympathetic restoration of landmark buildings across the capital.
This role will involve overseeing the M&E delivery across two live projects currently entering their final phases:
- A luxury residential development involving the restoration and conversion of historic buildings into premium apartments and townhouses
- A high-spec apartment hotel development in Edinburgh city centre
The Role
This is a hands-on client-side role where you will act as the key link between the client team, consultants and subcontractors on site. You will be responsible for overseeing M&E subcontractors, monitoring quality and programme, assisting with commissioning activities, resolving technical queries and ensuring installations are delivered to the required specification and standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate M&E subcontractors across both projects
- Monitor commissioning and final handover activities
- Provide technical support and resolve on-site queries
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme
- Liaise between subcontractors, consultants and the client team
- Attend site meetings and report on progress/issues
- Support quality inspections and snagging processes
- Assist in driving projects through to practical completion
Requirements
- Previous experience in an M&E Manager, Supervisor or Building Services role
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical packages
- Experience working on high-end residential, hotel or commercial projects
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Strong technical and problem-solving ability
- Available to start quickly
