Site Angels is recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor delivering a £13 million housing project in Elgin. This opportunity could suit someone already operating at Managing QS level or an experienced Senior QS ready to take the next step in their career. You do not need to live locally to Elgin. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the project approximately two days per week, with the remainder of the working week based from the company’s office in Clackmannanshire.
The role will involve taking commercial responsibility for the project, ensuring strong financial control and supporting its successful delivery from a cost and contractual perspective. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of the project
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts and cost reports
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Valuations, variations and final accounts
- Managing contractual and commercial risk
- Working closely with the operational and project delivery teams
- Providing commercial guidance and support throughout the project
- Mentoring or supporting junior members of the commercial team where required
The successful candidate must have:
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor
- Experience managing the commercial delivery of construction projects
- Strong contractual, financial and subcontractor management skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of a project
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification
The package includes:
- Salary of £60,000–£80,000 depending on experience and level
