Site Angels is recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor for an established main contractor delivering an impressive £23 million hotel project in Edinburgh city centre. This is a key commercial appointment and could suit an experienced Managing QS or a strong Senior QS who is ready to step up and take greater commercial responsibility. The successful candidate will be expected to work on site in Edinburgh city centre four days per week, providing close commercial support to the project and operational teams throughout the delivery of the development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking commercial responsibility for the project
  • Managing budgets, forecasts and cost reporting
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
  • Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risk
  • Monitoring project performance against agreed financial targets
  • Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team
  • Managing client and subcontractor commercial relationships
  • Supporting and developing junior commercial team members where required

The successful candidate must have:

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor
  • Experience delivering significant construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
  • Excellent financial management, negotiation and reporting skills
  • The confidence to take ownership of the project’s commercial performance
  • A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification

  • Salary of £60,000–£80,000 depending on experience and level
