ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
Join our fast-paced AI Development team as a Senior Software Developer. We're looking for a strong, experienced engineer first and foremost - someone who writes clean, scalable, well-architected code and knows how to ship reliable software at scale. On top of that solid foundation, you'll bring curiosity and hands-on interest in AI, helping the team explore and integrate generative AI capabilities into SITA's global portfolio. This role blends core engineering craft with the chance to grow into AI-driven development, in an environment where technologies are built responsibly, efficiently, and at scale.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Write and deliver high-quality, scalable code; troubleshoot system issues with strong engineering discipline.
- Uphold coding standards, development guidelines, and best practices across workstreams and the team.
- Participate in reviews - code, sprint performance, and definition of new initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, product, and DevOps teams, contributing engineering rigor as AI capabilities get integrated into larger systems.
- Bring curiosity to new AI technologies, frameworks, and tools, helping the team evaluate and adopt what's genuinely useful.
- Help ensure solutions adhere to ethical AI principles, data privacy regulations, and responsible practices as they're introduced.
Qualifications External
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a development role, with strong command of a modern, object-oriented programming language.
• Proven experience in Python, plus at least one additional language (Java, C#).
• Solid engineering fundamentals: CI/CD, Git, testing, secure coding, debugging, and modern engineering workflows.
• Genuine interest and some hands-on exposure to generative AI technologies - this can range from side projects to production experience.
• Willingness to build knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, model orchestration tools (e.g., Semantic Kernel, LangChain), prompt design, RAG pipelines, or fine-tuning .
NICE-TO-HAVE
• Hands-on production experience with generative AI (RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, prompt engineering).
• Exposure to MLOps toolchains (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML).
• Experience working in aviation, transportation, or other safety-critical environments.
• Professional programming certification in a mainstream language.
