PURPOSE
The role is responsible for building, leading and motivating a team of individuals who work within scrum teams, ensuring that they have the appropriate skills and competencies available for the benefit of the squad and key delivery. A key responsibility of the Capability Lead will be to support the team as they adopt an agile portfolio approach along with overseeing professional development, coaching and ensuring that learning is aligned to the strategic priorities.
What You Will Do
- Performance Reviews : Conduct Mid Year and End of Year performance reviews involving and collaborating with fellow Capability Leads, Scrum Masters, Tech Leads and PO’s to obtain reviews quarterly. Result feeding into budget for increases, SIRP, promotions.
- Working with FTE’s to set SMART Goals
- Check-in sessions (2 x p/month)
- query on health and stress level
- tracking of goals and IDP
- challenges / highlights
- mentoring and coaching
- Training
- Putting together training plans tying into an IDP
- Acquire funding from Central Learning and guide FTE on which process to follow (Pcard vs PO)
- Vacation Tracking
- Issuance and tracking of Comp Time
- Tracking of mandatory training
- Determining gaps and getting approval for additional Head Count
- Creating accurate Job Descriptions
- Work with Talent Acquisition for attracting head count and submitting offers
- Conduct Interviews
- Onboarding of FTE’s
- Working with Agencies to acquire contractors
- Provide Job Descriptions
- Conduct/ schedule interviews
- Initiate and track Requistions/PO’s
- Onboarding of contractors
Qualifications
Experience:
- Post-graduate qualifications in a computing and/or business discipline and/or extensive relevant experience
- Experience in developing performance and development plans for wide range/type of resources
- Proven ability to coach and mentor staff through change, harnessing strengths and abilities to affect positive change outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship building and influencing skills which enable effective interaction with other members, guiding decision making promoting collaboration
- Proven management expertise
- Ability to work collaboratively to develop and deliver appropriate solutions
- Experience in conflict management
- Proven experience in working with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds to unify global teams
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, visual)
- Basic understanding of technologies within Engineering/Architecture
Nice-to-have
- Scrum Master or Coaching certifications
- Agile, SAFe or ICAgile certifications
