PURPOSE
As an Associate Project Manager, you will oversee a host of standard projects within our portfolio dedicated solely to Heathrow\’s network infrastructure.Your ability to plan resources and lead project professionals effectively is key to ensuring the timely delivery of planned outcomes. Success in this role means you pay attention to detail, are time-sensitive, possess influencing skills, and enjoy working with others from diverse backgrounds within our global environment.
The work location for this position is at Heathrow Airport. The successful candidate will be required to commute to the office three times per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role offers a range of responsibilities, such as:
- Managing Network Projects at Heathrow– You will lead the execution of IT and network infrastructure projects that vary in complexity and scope, typically managing a portfolio of 30-40 projects – many of which small in size but collectively high in impact. Proactively forecast and allocate resources based on current and pipeline project workloads. You will manage change, mitigate risks, and deliver results to stakeholders and customers alike. Attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to influence people are key skills for managing projects.
- Leading and Coordinating project and engineering teams – Based on organizational design and needs, you will review, recommend, and maintain the optimum structure of the team in contributing to the capacity and skills strategy. You will act as the first point of escalation for project members as part of your portfolio and take responsibility to resolve issues presented.
- Project Management Administration – Be an advocate and supporter of all standards and practices defined within our company. Promote practice standards and ensure consistent use and performance.
- Governance and Reporting –Ensure strong project governance and rigorous reporting across your project portfolio. Drive compliance with internal standards and frameworks, providing structured, timely and transparent update to stakeholders and management. Champion consistency in documentation, tracking KPI and levaraging data for decision making.
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE
- 3-5 years of experience as an IT Project Lead, Associate Project Manager, or IT Project Administrator within the IT industry, leading IT network projects.
- Previous experience in managing or coordinating teams, whether small or large groups (as a team leader, supervisor, or junior manager).
- Experience in the aviation industry or/and at Heathrow airport are highly desirable
- Strong project governance, risk management and reporting capabilities.
- Effective team leadership
- End-to-end project delivery of one or more projects from inception through to closure within a commercial environment
- Excellent stakeholder and customer engagement, particularly in complex enviroments (e.g. airports).
- University degree in Business or equivalent experience
- Formal project management training and certification – PMP desired but not mandatory
