Manager (Consulting and Life Sciences)

Location: London

Who are Sisua?

At Sisua, we help organisations turn strategy into action. We partner with clients to deliver complex transformation programmes, critical business initiatives, major system implementations, and mergers and acquisitions. Our mission is simple: to make big challenges achievable.

Our name comes from the Finnish word sisu – a mindset defined by courage, determination, resilience, and perseverance in the face of adversity. These qualities shape our culture and the way we work with clients and each other.

We combine the experience and expertise of larger consultancies with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. Our people work as trusted partners, bringing energy, authenticity, and deep delivery expertise to help clients achieve lasting results.

The profile we are looking for

This is a management consulting role within the life sciences sector.

We are looking for candidates who have worked for a management consultancy, specialist life sciences consultancy, or consulting division of a professional services firm, delivering business transformation, programme delivery, operating model, technology, M&A, or change engagements for life sciences clients.

This is not a scientific, laboratory, clinical research, medical affairs, or technical research role. A scientific or life sciences industry background alone will not be sufficient.

Essential experience

To be considered, you should have:

  • Substantial management consulting or professional services experience.
  • Experience delivering consulting engagements for clients in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, healthcare, or another relevant life sciences sector.
  • Experience leading client-facing transformation, programme delivery, technology implementation, operating model, M&A, integration, or change initiatives.
  • Experience managing consulting teams, project plans, risks, budgets, deliverables, and senior client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of the consulting lifecycle, including problem definition, analysis, recommendation development, delivery, quality assurance, account development, and proposal creation.
  • The ability to operate confidently with senior client stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.

What will you be doing?

As a Sisua Manager, you will lead medium to large client engagements and work directly with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of client work, including managing teams, plans, risks, issues, budgets, dependencies, governance, and the quality of client deliverables.

You will also play an active role in developing client relationships, identifying further opportunities, supporting proposals, and contributing to the growth of Sisua’s life sciences consulting capability.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working in fast-moving and sometimes uncertain environments, takes ownership, and is comfortable balancing client delivery, team leadership, and business development.

Leading consulting engagements

You will:

  • Lead complex consulting projects and programmes for life sciences clients.
  • Structure ambiguous client problems and translate them into clear plans, workstreams, deliverables, and decisions.
  • Manage engagement governance, plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality client deliverables, recommendations, presentations, and reports.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a strategic advisor.
  • Hold accountability for the quality and successful delivery of the engagements you lead.
  • Coach and mentor consultants and support the development of high-performing teams.
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, and delivery-focused working environment.

Delivery and problem-solving

You will have:

  • Advanced programme, project management, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to lead engagements with minimal oversight.
  • A proactive approach to identifying, analysing, and resolving complex business problems.
  • The ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to challenging client environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how consulting engagements are managed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and other standard consulting tools.

Life sciences experience

You will have experience working as a consultant to organisations in one or more of the following areas:

  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Biotechnology
  • Medical devices
  • Diagnostics
  • Consumer health
  • Contract research or manufacturing organisations
  • Healthcare or health technology

Relevant engagement experience may include:

  • Business transformation
  • Digital or technology transformation
  • Enterprise system implementation
  • Operating model design
  • Organisational change
  • Mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or divestitures
  • Programme mobilisation or recovery
  • Process improvement
  • Regulatory or compliance-enabled transformation
  • Commercial, supply chain, finance, HR, data, or technology change

We are primarily looking for strong management consultants who understand how life sciences organisations operate and how to deliver complex change within the sector.

Client and relationship management

You will:

  • Build strong and lasting relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Understand your clients’ operations, objectives, challenges, and wider market environment.
  • Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities arising from your client engagements.
  • Lead or contribute to account management, proposals, presentations, and business development activity.
  • Recognise where Sisua can provide additional expertise and introduce colleagues into client opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop a strong professional network within consulting and life sciences.
  • Use active listening, empathy, and commercial judgement to understand client needs.
  • Contribute knowledge, experience, and lessons learned back into the wider Sisua community.

Building Sisua

As a growing consultancy, we expect our Managers to contribute beyond their immediate client engagements.

You will have opportunities to:

  • Help develop Sisua’s life sciences consulting capability and market proposition.
  • Lead or contribute to internal initiatives, intellectual property, methods, tools, and thought leadership.
  • Support recruitment, coaching, team development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to initiatives such as AI adoption, health and wellbeing, employee networks, diversity and inclusion, and team events.
  • Help shape the culture, direction, and continued growth of the business.
  • Lead by example and create an environment that motivates others and reinforces the right behaviours.

What is it like to work with us?

Our self-directed career model gives you significant ownership over how your career develops. While we have a clear core offering, we encourage our people to explore new ideas, build new capabilities, and pursue areas that interest them.

Entrepreneurial spirit is built into our business. You will have opportunities to use your creativity, influence how we work, and help build a successful and growing consultancy.

Family time and wellbeing are important to Sisua. We offer:

  • 28 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • A matched-contribution pension scheme.
  • A supportive and flexible working culture.
  • Opportunities to shape your career and contribute directly to the growth of the business.
  • The chance to work closely with experienced consultants and senior client leaders.
