AI Creative Technologist
Sister Jane β€” London (Central), London (Greater) (GB)

We are looking for a talented, ambitious, hands-on AI Creative Technologist to join our London team at a time when the team and business are continuing to grow. The successful applicant will build new digital tools and experiences across the business, in a role that offers a great opportunity to be at the heart of how Sister Jane designs, sells and connects with its customers.

This is a newly created position. Over the past two years the tools for making software have changed completely, and it is now possible for a curious, commercially-minded person to build genuinely useful things without a traditional engineering background. We are looking for someone who has taught themselves to build, and who wants to apply that to a growing fashion brand rather than to a technology company.

The role sits across two areas:
1) Customer-facing interactive experiences and interactive digital features with the aim to engage customers, share and return.
2) Internal solutions: tools that allow our design, content creation, e-commerce, marketing and operations teams to new things, handle data in novel ways and solve issues and pain points.

You will report directly to the founder and work with every team in the business.

Responsibilities

  • Building interactive features, digital experiences, including interactive games for sisterjane.com, and ghospell.com, working alongside the marketing and creative teams around campaign and collection launches
  • Building tools to support e-commerce customer journey and retention.
  • Working with the creative teams to implement tools to augment content creation and editing capabilities
  • Working with our design and product teams to create novel ways to handling of fabric, garment care and technical information
  • Building tools that consolidate wholesale sale information to support sales team decision making
  • Developing internal tools that turn returns and customer feedback into usable insight on fit and quality for the design and production teams
  • Sitting with each team to understand where time is being lost or opportunities missed, and proposing what should be built
  • Prototyping quickly, testing with the teams who will use the tools, and refining based on how they are actually used
  • Maintaining and documenting build to allow for continuity of operations when live
  • Working carefully with customer data, live sites and stock systems, and knowing when to seek support
  • Keeping pace with new AI development tools as they emerge and assessing what is genuinely useful to the business

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of building tools, whether professionally, for a previous employer, or independently.
  • Do not require to have traditional computer science background
  • Confidence with current AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Lovable or Replit, and the ability to pick up new ones quickly
  • A working understanding of data, APIs and how commercial systems such as Shopify fit together
  • A strong visual eye and high standards of craft
  • Excellent communication skills, and genuine enjoyment of working with non-technical colleagues
  • Commercial curiosity, and an interest in how a fashion business actually operates
  • Good judgement around customer data, live websites and anything that affects trading
  • Experience in fashion, retail or e-commerce is an advantage but not essential. A computer science degree is not required
