Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Affairs, Marketing & Client Engagement, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering an integrated marketing and events strategy that strengthens Sisk's market position, enhances client relationships, supports business growth and reinforces the organisation's reputation across Ireland, the UK and selected international markets.
The role acts as the strategic link between Corporate Affairs, Client Engagement, Recruitment, Communications, Business Development and Operational Leadership, ensuring marketing activity supports organisational priorities, client engagement objectives, workforce needs and long-term business growth.
The Marketing Manager provides leadership across brand management, strategic communications, client engagement, employer brand activity, market positioning, digital channels, campaigns and the full events portfolio. The role owns events from opportunity identification and strategic recommendation through planning, supplier sourcing, promotion, delivery, client engagement, follow-up and performance evaluation, ensuring all activity is aligned to business objectives and delivers measurable value.
The role may be based in the London, Dublin or Belfast office and will have responsibility for all strategic events across the Sisk Group.
Responsibilities
Events Strategy, Portfolio & Delivery
- Own and manage the full portfolio of corporate, client, industry, sponsorship and business development events from initial concept through post-event evaluation.
- Research the market and identify the right events, conferences, exhibitions, roundtables and owned-event opportunities for Sisk's scale, priority sectors, target clients and strategic objectives.
- Prepare clear business cases and recommendations for event participation, sponsorship or creation, securing strategic endorsement from relevant senior leaders and governance forums.
- Define each event's objectives, target audience, client attraction and engagement plan, success measures, budget, delivery model and integrated marketing approach.
- Source, brief, negotiate with and manage venues, production partners, creative agencies, technology providers, caterers and other suppliers, ensuring quality, value, compliance and delivery against agreed standards.
- Lead end-to-end event planning and set-up, including timelines, logistics, registration, branding, content, speakers, delegate communications, hospitality, on-site delivery, contingency planning and issue resolution.
- Develop and execute pre-event, live-event and post-event marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, content and stakeholder channels to maximise attendance, visibility and engagement.
- Partner with Client Affairs, Business Development and operational leaders to identify priority clients, support invitations and relationship plans, facilitate meaningful engagement and enable timely post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and event teams, ensuring clear roles, approvals, briefing materials, brand consistency and a high-quality attendee experience.
- Evaluate event effectiveness using agreed measures such as attendance, target-client engagement, leads or opportunities generated, stakeholder feedback, brand impact and return on investment, applying insights to future portfolio decisions.
- Maintain an annual events calendar, pipeline, budget, supplier records, governance documentation and performance dashboard to provide visibility of activity, investment and outcomes.
Marketing Strategy & Business Alignment
- Lead the development and execution of the annual marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, market priorities and growth plans.
- Assess proposed marketing initiatives against strategic priorities, client relationship objectives, available budget, reputational considerations and anticipated business value.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen market positioning across target sectors, regions and service lines.
- Translate business priorities into integrated marketing programmes that support client acquisition, retention, growth and talent attraction.
Brand, Reputation & Corporate Communications
- Protect and strengthen the Sisk brand across all internal and external communications.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, visual identity and brand standards across all channels and stakeholder groups.
- Work closely with Corporate Affairs and Communications teams to support corporate reputation, thought leadership and strategic communication initiatives.
- Manage agency partners, creative suppliers and specialist consultants to deliver high-quality outputs aligned to organisational standards.
Client Engagement & Market Positioning
- Partner with Client Affairs, Business Development and operational leaders to develop client engagement campaigns that support relationship growth and market opportunities.
- Develop sector-focused marketing initiatives that showcase organisational capability, project delivery excellence, innovation and sustainability credentials.
- Partner on strategic client, industry and sponsorship events, ensuring each opportunity is supported by an integrated marketing, communications and engagement plan.
- Create targeted campaigns and content that enhance client experience and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Work Winning & Business Development Support
- Collaborate with bid, business development and operational teams to strengthen marketing support for major pursuits and strategic opportunities.
- Oversee the development of compelling case studies, project profiles, capability statements and marketing collateral.
- Ensure marketing assets accurately reflect organisational capability, market differentiation and client value propositions.
- Maintain a library of approved marketing content, credentials and supporting materials.
Employer Brand & Recruitment Marketing
- Partner with Recruitment and HR teams to develop employer branding strategies that support workforce planning and critical talent attraction.
- Create campaigns that promote careers, culture, diversity, inclusion, development opportunities and employee value propositions.
- Support recruitment marketing activity across digital channels, social media and careers platforms.
- Ensure employer brand messaging aligns with organisational values and business objectives.
Digital Marketing & Content Leadership
- Lead digital marketing strategy across website, social media, email marketing and emerging communication channels.
- Oversee content planning, creation and distribution to maximise audience engagement and brand visibility.
- Use analytics, audience insight and market intelligence to optimise campaign performance and decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in digital presence, user experience and content effectiveness.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, client relationship owners, recruitment teams, communications professionals, operational stakeholders and external partners.
- Provide strategic marketing advice and guidance to leaders across the business.
- Influence and align diverse stakeholder groups while maintaining clear governance and decision-making processes.
- Act as a trusted advisor on marketing, communications and reputation-related matters.
Budget, Governance & Performance Reporting
- Manage marketing budgets and supplier expenditure, ensuring investment decisions are evidence-based and aligned to strategic priorities.
- Establish appropriate governance frameworks, approval processes and performance measures.
- Maintain accurate records relating to campaign activity, supplier performance, expenditure, outcomes and return on investment.
- Deliver regular reporting on marketing effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, brand performance and business impact.
- Use data and insights to evaluate activity, inform future investment and demonstrate value delivered.
Experience
- Proven experience owning and delivering a varied portfolio of corporate, client, industry, exhibition, sponsorship or business development events from opportunity identification and concept creation through supplier sourcing, promotion, on-site delivery, client engagement, follow-up and evaluation.
- Proven experience leading complex marketing, communications or stakeholder engagement programmes across multiple business units, geographies or senior stakeholder groups.
- Significant experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, professional services or similarly complex project-based environments.
- Strong strategic planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience supporting business development, work-winning or client engagement activity.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand management, content strategy and campaign measurement.
- Proven budget management experience.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and marketing technologies; Adobe Creative Cloud experience advantageous.
