By connecting people, facilitating knowledge exchange and promoting innovation, the Knowledge Manager (Communities & Innovation) will help reduce duplication, accelerate learning and support the organisation's strategic objectives of Consistent Performance, Integrated Expertise and Innovative Delivery.

The Knowledge Manager (Communities & Innovation) is responsible for developing and maintaining the frameworks, networks and activities that enable the effective exchange of knowledge across Sisk, in collaboration with the Knowledge Management team.

The role will lead initiatives that encourage collaboration, learning and sharing between individuals, teams, disciplines and regions, ensuring expertise and experience are visible and accessible wherever needed.

The postholder will develop and execute strategies that foster knowledge sharing, support Communities of Practice, facilitate learning events and strengthen Sisk's knowledge-sharing culture.

The role will also coordinate the Irish R&D Tax Credit process, working with project teams, technical specialists and external consultants to identify qualifying innovation activity, collect evidence and develop case studies that capture and share business innovation.

This is an excellent way to build relationships with busy project teams.

A key measure of success for this role will be the growth of active knowledge-sharing networks, increased collaboration across business units and improved visibility of expertise, innovation and good practice throughout the organisation.

Knowledge Sharing Strategy

In collaboration with the Group Knowledge Manager

  • Develop frameworks and processes to facilitate the exchange of tacit knowledge.
  • Identify barriers to knowledge sharing and develop interventions to address them.
  • Monitor and report on knowledge-sharing maturity and engagement across the business.
  • Communities of Practice
  • Develop and lead a Communities of Practice (Co P) strategy across the organisation.
  • Establish new Communities of Practice aligned to business priorities and support Community Leaders in managing and growing their communities.
  • Create frameworks, guidance and resources to ensure communities remain sustainable and effective.
  • Facilitate collaboration between communities to reduce duplication and encourage knowledge transfer.
  • Measure and report on community engagement, participation and outcomes.
  • Knowledge Sharing Networks and Events
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing activities, webinars and workshops across the Group.
  • Coordinate and support the established Knowledge Sharing Network (monthly webinar sharing experience across the Group) and related forums.
  • Organise events that connect employees with expertise and experience from across the business.
  • Support subject matter experts in sharing knowledge through appropriate formats and channels.
  • Irish R&D Tax Credit Coordination
  • Coordinate the Irish R&D Tax Credit process in partnership with external consultants and internal stakeholders. This includes:
  • Scheduling and facilitating interviews between projects and consultants
  • Monitor progress of claims and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Keeping project teams to deadlines to ensure a successful claim
  • Identify opportunities to increase engagement with the process and improve innovation capture.

Develop technical case studies and identify innovations that can be shared through tacit channels

Essential

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Experience developing or managing Communities of Practice, knowledge-sharing networks or collaborative programmes.
  • Experience planning and facilitating workshops, webinars and collaborative events.
  • Experience developing and implementing organisational or departmental strategies or programmes.
  • Excellent writing, communication and storytelling skills.
  • Experience working in construction, infrastructure, engineering or a related project-based environment.

Desirable

  • Experience in Knowledge Management, Organisational Learning or Organisational Development.
  • Understanding of knowledge capture and knowledge transfer methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Communities of Practice models and social learning principles.
  • Experience creating knowledge assets and communications content, particularly in media format.
  • Professional qualification in Knowledge Management, Project Management, Learning & Development or a related discipline.
