Responsibilities
  • Business Growth and Strategy: Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the UK modular and MMC construction market. Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with Vision Built’s growth objectives in the UK. Strengthen Vision Built’s presence and reputation within the modular and offsite construction sector across public and private markets. Build a robust and sustainable pipeline of opportunities to support long‑term business growth.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with framework clients, principal contractors, consultants, local authorities, housing associations and end users. Act as a key point of contact for client engagement, promoting Vision Built’s modular and MMC capabilities. Lead client meetings, presentations and CPD sessions, clearly articulating Vision Built’s technical, commercial and sustainability offering. Support early engagement discussions to shape project opportunities and client requirements.
  • Commercial and Tender Support: Support the preparation of commercial proposals, tender submissions and client presentations in collaboration with internal teams. Contribute to commercial strategy development ensuring opportunities are aligned with business objectives and risk appetite. Participate in tender interviews, client meetings and commercial negotiations as required. Ensure accurate handover of secured opportunities to pre‑construction and delivery teams.
  • Market Intelligence and Reporting: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, procurement activity and MMC developments within the UK construction sector. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities and pipeline activity using CRM systems. Provide regular reporting and forecasting updates to senior leadership.
  • Brand and Industry Representation: Represent Vision Built at industry events, exhibitions and client forums. Promote Vision Built’s brand, values and expertise within the modular and offsite construction market. Act as an ambassador for the business across the UK construction industry.
Experience
  • Proven experience in a business development or commercial role within modular construction, offsite manufacturing or MMC.
  • Demonstrable success securing work through UK construction frameworks and structured procurement routes.
  • Strong understanding of UK public and private sector procurement processes.
  • Established network of industry contacts within modular, MMC or wider construction markets.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles from early engagement through to contract award.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, design, commercial and operational teams.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and decision makers.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional training or qualifications in business development, commercial management or sales are desirable.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand contracts, pricing structures and risk considerations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint and familiar with CRM systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
