The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be leading the commercial reactive works team and assisting the operational side to ensure successful delivery of the Framework contracts, while maintaining both internal and client relationships to maximise commercial returns and manage risk.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate the commercial strategy, amending with MQS/CM to suit the project/portfolio as it develops.
- Liaise with & commercially influence/challenge the other members of the team and the construction process.
- Take ownership for, administer and represent Sisk in commercial and contractual issues, including but not limited to:
- Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate s/c and finalising s/c orders, financially and commercially manage to Final Account completion.
- Prepare and present forecasts, targets and CV reconciliations.
- Prepare and agree valuations, including generating certificates and invoice/payments.
- Variations prepared with adequate/appropriate records, agree as works progress.
- Update projected Final Accounts on regular basis and prepare, submit and agree Final Account in a timely manner.
- Involvement in value engineering and design development.
- Uploading CVR to Portfolio Dashboard.
- Maintain and protect JSS commercial and contractual entitlement.
- Prelim controls/monitoring - establish and maintain with support from JSS Rail Cost Manager.
- Site records/admin and document control through Geopal or other applicable systems.
- Insurance and warranties – ensure adequate protection of JSS (from supply chain and to client) and utilisation where necessary.
- Minimise risk and maximise realisation of opportunity through a MIP Plan for each project where required under Valuation Policy.
- Review and update project risk/opportunity plan, monitoring for changes and consider within any forecast reports.

- Oversee a team of QS / AQS / CA to deliver works.
- Ensure a career development plan is in place (agreed with MQS / CM) for each member of the team.
- Attend client facing project and programme update meetings utilising Care, Integrity and Excellence at all times.

- Has knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, letters of intent and other common contractual mechanisms.
- Lead the procurement, negotiation and letting of complex sub-contracts.
- Can supervise the preparation of documents for complex main contracts.
- Have experience of managing contracts using schedule of rates.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience of NEC 3 and/or 4.
- Experience of Network Rail Contract Suite.
- Interest in rail projects.
