MAIN OBJECTIVES


To assist with the construction and installation of the highest quality sports surfaces on projects throughout the UK.


To assist in the construction and delivery of special projects & cricket wickets.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES/ TASKS

1. To work as part of a team in the preparation of the site for the construction of a sports pitch.


1.1. To undertake basic groundworks, including ground levelling and preparation, kerb laying and drainage works, and any other hard landscaping.


1.2. To operate basic construction power tools, equipment and plant, subject to training and competency, such as dumpers, diggers, telehandlers.

1.3. To undertake general labouring tasks, including the erection of fencing and signage as required.

2.To work as part of a team in the laying and installation of artificial sports turf surfaces on prepared pitch ground.

2.1. To assist with the measuring, marking out, laying and stitching of artificial turf; and any related soft landscaping.

2.2. To assist with the laying of sand, rubber and other playing surface materials, including line marking.

2.3. To use power tools, plant and machinery for the installation of sports surfaces, as required.

2.4. To ensure that all work methods are followed precisely and that the quality of the work is checked regularly.

2.5. To assist in the clearing and cleaning of the site to ensure the pitch is left safe and tidy at all times.

3.To assist in maintenance tasks if required.

3.1. To assist with the replacement of surface materials where required, using plant and machinery, subject to training and competency.

4.To ensure that, when required to do so, that all company vehicles and plant and machinery are operated safely, in accordance with user instructions and company policy.

4.1. To operate machinery responsibly.

4.2. To undertake maintenance, safety and quality checks on vehicles and plant before and after using.

4.3. To ensure all site machinery is left safe and secure on site if the responsibility has been delegated.

4.4. To report immediately any faults or breakdowns.

5.To be vigilant at all times to ensure that the site is safe and that no unauthorized persons access the site.

5.1. To report to the Site Supervisor any unauthorized access or sighting of any unknown personnel on site.

5.2. To remain vigilant on specified sites and report any safeguarding concerns or health & safety concerns.

6.Other Duties


6.1. To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time but that shall remain within the competency and skills of the post-holder.
