As part of the role, you will be assisting with the development, organisation, and delivery of a Positive Behaviour Support Service so that individuals who display challenging behaviour develop the skills to enjoy the best quality of life possible. Ensuring staff teams receive high quality person-specific training to deliver behavioural support. Ensuring the standards and quality of care provided is the forefront of all workers. You will work alongside the occupational therapy team. Together you will be expected to maintain and work within CQC regulatory standards.

About the service:

SIS is a leading care provider in the Northwest. We have been supporting individuals with mental health and housing needs since 2014. We are developing this brand-new service in Macclesfield to support the more complex client group in a specialist, bespoke development. This will be a 24-hour, PBS led service with input from our OT and MH professionals. Individuals will have their own apartment within a 10-unit complex with staff on site. The service is aimed to support individuals who have had long stay admissions in locked door rehabilitation units, forensic units, and out of area placements. This may be their first opportunity to live semi-independently and develop independent living skills. Whilst challenging, there is lots of opportunity for the successful candidate to help improve people’s lives and build an excellent team around the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, organisation, and delivery of a high-quality PBS service.
  • Provide specialist consultation and guidance for individuals requiring person-centred support including behaviours that challenge.
  • Deliver person-centred PBS training to staff teams, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to provide high-quality behavioural support.
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapy team and service managers to maintain and exceed CQC regulatory standards.
  • Oversee transition plans, ensuring individuals moving into SIS services receive a well-coordinated and structured move to their new home.
  • Mentor, coach and ensure best practice is delivered by all staff in line with guidelines and the agreed PBS strategies that you implement.
  • Supervise and support PBS facilitators.

What you will get in return:

  • Excellent Pension Scheme
  • 33 Days annual leave plus BANK HOLIDAYS
  • Enhanced employee Healthcare Benefits
  • Death in service - Life Assurance.
  • Enhanced DBS paid for by SIS (T&C’s Apply)

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing PBS models and strategies.
  • Experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and intervention planning.
  • Effective leadership record which demonstrates impact.
  • Personable and able to coach and develop staff confidence with behaviours that challenge.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver staff training programmes in PBS strategies.
  • Familiarity with clinical behavioural observation measures (e.g., ABC charts, Functional Assessments).
