Join our Finance team, where your insight makes a real difference! We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team. Working closely with operational budget managers, you will provide support with budgeting, preparation and monitoring of monthly management accounts, forecasting expenditure and costing projects and proposals. You should have management accounting experience and be AAT qualified or equivalent. We operate hybrid working with an expectation of being office based at our Headquarters in Yate for 2 days a week.

Main duties of the job:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including accruals & prepayments.
  • Monitor budgets against actual performance, analysing and explaining variances.
  • Forecast expenditure and income for the financial year.
  • Produce financial reports and information for managers across the company.
  • Liaise with and support operational budget managers to enable them to manage their budgets effectively.
  • Prepare costings for new services and support projects as necessary.
  • Interpret and explain a variety of routine and more complex financial information to a variety of audiences.

Person specification:

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Experienced as a management accountant working within a complex organisation.
  • Good IT literacy including knowledge of financial ledger systems and excellent excel skills.
  • Able to interpret and explain a variety of routine and more complex financial information to a variety of audiences.
  • Evidence of ability to resolve varied problems using sound logic and taking into consideration relevant implications.
  • Evidence of working with a range of managers at different levels.
  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care services.

Qualifications and training:

  • Hold recognised qualifications within the accountancy area at degree level/AAT/BTEC Advanced Professional Diploma/Graduate Certificate level/NVQ4/VQ4.
  • Hold or be studying towards an accountancy qualification from one of the CCAB accountancy bodies.
