The Head of Estates Development and Projects leads the Organisation’s Estates Management service, driving the successful delivery of the Estate Strategy programme through strategic project management and high-quality service outcomes. This role is pivotal in shaping and transforming the built environment to support organisational priorities and enhance patient experience.

Main duties of the job:

  • Managing the Estates portfolio of complex projects associated with the effective delivery of the organisation’s objectives as delegated by the Associate Director of Estates and Environmental.
  • Leading the development, planning and delivery of an effective operational Estate and Facilities Service function for Sirona.
  • Develop long term strategies for the Estate, reflecting on the clinical and operational strategies, cost improvements and service rationalisation.
  • Manage the departmental spend within budget, delivering required savings.
  • Responsible for the design and costing elements of Strategic Outline Cases.
  • Manage all property lease negotiations and disposals and provide professional advice on matters relating to property.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Educated to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent in a building/engineering or built environment related subject.
  • Chartered Member of a relevant professional body or working towards registration.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience of multidisciplinary project management of property improvement schemes including capital planning and capital procurement processes from inception to completion.
  • Delivering construction/improvement projects in highly complex healthcare settings and environments.
  • Experience of negotiations with supplier organisations.
  • Considerable experience of negotiation and liaison with clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Experience of working in Health Service delivery.
